Screw email, I will just post it here. All the "COOL" people read my blog after all! ;P I posted it because as Americans it SHOULD NOT offend you to stand up for and show pride in your country. Or what is supposed to be not the entitlement county it is becoming. What a slap on the face it will be when all the Gimme, Gimmes realize the gimme only goes so far...

Letter by a Florida teacher. A teacher speaks

This is a subject close to my heart. Do you know that we have adult students at the school where I teach who are not US citizens and who get the PELL grant, which is a federal grant (no pay back required) plus other federal grants to go to school?

One student from the Dominican Republic told me that she didn't want me to find a job for her after she finished my program, because she was getting housing from our housing department and she was getting a PELL grant which paid for her total tuition and books, plus money leftover.

She was looking into WAIT which gives students a CREDIT CARD for gas to come to school, and into CARIBE which is a special program (check it out - I did) for immigrants and it pays for child care and all sorts of needs while they go to school or training. The one student I just mentioned told me she was not going to be a US Citizen because she plans to return to the Dominican Republic someday and that she 'loves HER country.'

I asked her if she felt guilty taking what the US is giving her and then not even bothering to become a citizen and she told me that it doesn't bother her, because that is what the money is there for!

I asked the CARIBE administration about their program and if you ARE a US Citizen, you don't qualify for their program. And all the while, I am working a full day, my son-in-law works more than 60 hours a week, and everyone in my family works and pays for our education.

Something is wrong here. I am sorry but after hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Spanish - enough is enough. Nowhere did they sing it in Italian, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German or any other language because of immigration. It was written by Francis Scott Key and should be sung word for word the way it was written. The news broadcasts even gave the translation -- not even close. Sorry if this offends anyone but this is MY COUNTRY.

Get a sponsor; have a place to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Guarded skeptic of "hope"

I will say this as my comments to the incoming administration, good luck. Hope you bring forth a positive change, unity and all the other crap so many other promise and always fall painfully short on fulfilling. I will wish you well, as I am a proud American damn it! I don't agree with your views, that is my right, until taken away. I want our country to succeed that is not wrong, its the American ideal. We have become painfully divided as of late pointing fingers at the heads of the country instead of those who are truly to blame. Bush didn't force people to take out loans they had no business taking out. They the people did. He didn't tell the banks to start those horrid arm loans either, neither did Clinton, but they began under his watch. Bush kept us safe after 9-11, he did, dropping the ball on the other signs of looming crisis that were evident to us common slugs.
I am DVRing the event, I am sitting at the YMCA with Logan in the Adventure Challenge as he took the oath of office. Good luck again to Obama, I say it with true honesty. In the same thought I just feel like saying, "There goes the neighborhood." We chose our bed, lets hope it is as cushy as it looks. All hail the new Celebrity in Chief.

1st Non American born President?

I never get sick of reading this stuff...it is like a never ending saga.. Do I know what to believe? No. Either way it is entertaining as hell to those of us conspiracy mongers. The next 4 years will be a blast to see the country go 'round the toilet bowl. Lets all go green then tax our asses off for conserving fuel, lets use compact florescent light bulbs to "save energy" but if the break they are bio hazards. Wind energy only gives back about 18% of the cost to have them put up and operated. Don't even get me started on using corn for ethanol when saw grass and algae give off way more then it takes to put into it. We need to be stewards to the Earth sure, but we are screwing ourselves coming and going. Heck, we can't even get the cabinet positions filled due to "pay-to-play." That's alright the Hubby didn't want Richardson as his boss anyhow. Bet Clinton is looking pretty damn good right now to some of you. What a fine mess. Good luck to you Obama, where ever the hell you were born.

I brought Logan with me to my station, he is so jazzed about it all. I did it, and was the 45th person from my little town to vote and it was only 8:30 polls opened at 8!

Not many 4 year old kids can name off all Reds and Blues vetting today, by party affiliation or by face. Mine can, hehehe! So, let me have a second to brag, since I found out my kids like the only one on the freaking planet that will not and has not been in a stroller since he was one!
