Things That Make You Go Hmmm

With all the things going down at casa King right now, I have not even been on the computer much at all.  I have fallen into that abyss of being a Super mom.  I secretly love it, but far too cool to admit it for fear of being pegged a sell out.

You ever have a plan 2 and all of a sudden, out of nowhere plan 2, could be plan 1?  I have some possible exciting news for those at casa King, but I cannot share it just yet, at least publicly. No, I am not pregnant.  No I didn't win the lotto. No the weatherman didn't cave and let me adopt a house full of animals.  Don't be silly, I didn't go all legits and get a job.  No we are not leaving hillbilly hell...exactly  It's not even about that 150 dollar speeding ticket I was awarded last Monday by a cop who admits they were baiting people. First ticket ever BTW.  I would make it a TMOT post, but I fear I will lose control and spout off my mouth about the officer.  Insulting cops, not cool.  Even if this one was being a tool.

Give me about a week to 10 days to see if it is for realz, and if it is, by God, I will be shouting it from the rooftops!  Can't wait, PM me on facebook, or if you are graced with my phone number you can call, I may even pick up and I will tell you what I can.

Till I get the detail, you can find me immersed within one of my too many text books, or transcribing for some loon who cannot speak English clearly.  Oh and many are Caucasians, I just think the actors dictate drunk.  I can't wait for the second part of this class if they are this jumbled in the first installment of it.

So, I will leave you now more confused than when you arrived.  Your welcome.

Mostly Wordless Wednesday

This month I am going to post pics from LOL Cats, since sop many of my posse are fans of the krazy kitties.  Here are my 3 fave for this week:

This would be my child if he were a cat, just change out paper sack with empty box.  Screw the box, gimmie that view!

Easily amused is how we rolz at Casa King.

And the LOL Cat winner of this Mostly Wordless Wednesday is:

Come on, it's both funny and true.
I hope they brought a smile to your face.

I draw a mean stick person

I have this thing, I really have no artistic talent.  I never learned.  Somewhere from the brain to the hand it all gets lost.  My art teachers LOVED me in school though because I could guide others and use such good descriptions I could make others really "see" what I wanted to get a cross.  Yet another way I skated through my schooling...  Sadly LD has picked up that trait from his father also, I say that because there's just no way he got that from me.  I don't fault him for not digging the whole artsy-fartsy drawing thing.  But I decided since he was in school last week to buy a sketch pad and what I swore on a stack of bibles were supposed to be colored pencils.  They weren't, they were oil pastels.  Do you have any idea how hard it is to use those on sketch paper?  I wanted to show Little Dude that it could be fun, I dragged out a old easel thing we had in the crawl space, once again proving that I can find damn near anything in that place.

Tuesday, I did "Walk in the Park."  it is an abstract of a nameless faceless man walking through a nameless faceless park anywhere and the things he would see along the way.
Next on Thursday, I did "Autumn Leaf Print."  It was to be a textured leaf picture of a blanket of leafs on the ground in the fall.  The leafs didn't exactly work like I had hoped, but the idea was there, and I liked the pallet I had used.
Lastly I drew "Burn" yesterday.  It was first going to be a swirly cloudy sky, but turned into a multi leveled picture with images within the flames.  I blame the song by Collective Soul, "Burn" as it was in my head the whole evening when I did the flames and switched the focus of the paining.  Because it is far easier to blame it on a music group, and their song then come out and say I'm a pyro.  :-)  "Baby want to burn with me?"
So here is what I have been doing the last week of my life.  All my works from here are up on RedBubble.com if you want to see what else I do.  Most of it is photographs, I got into the site because of my good friend Marsha who has AMAZING works there.  Her art is really worth a look!

School is now back in session and my classes are all new and challenging.  Wish me luck.  I will check in when I can.  If I get a TMOT up, it will be later in the evening as I am booked solid from 7PM-8PM tomorrow.  I know woe is me, right?

Ticks Me Off Tuesday- Guest Blogger

I decided after reading the following blog post that I had to convince The Domestication of the (Once) Single Girl to be my guest poster for this weeks TMOT.  She being uber coolio said she would.  Check out her blog if you enjoy this post!

Dear CVS (The Endless Saga of Trying to Stay Medicated)

I am an insured US citizen who doesn't even like to take Tylenol when I have a headache.

The idea of taking an SSRI on a daily basis was very unnatural to me.

And then I realized that it made me feel...better.

I do not avoid any situations because of panic attacks. It's kind of like making it through being stuck outside in a really bad hailstorm, though. It did not kill you but it was very unpleasant to deal with.

I have valid Rx's that are written out by my Dr who has been practicing medicine since the year of my birth.

Yet this is what I go through when I call to get a refill.

***

Lexapro. The highest number of milli-whatevers that it comes in is 20. My dose is 40. So I am prescribed the 20 dose and I take 2 pills after dinner.

It, apparently, is a very large amount of Lexapro. I am unable to explain how or why this is. Because I am just the crazy girl who is a stay at home mom who blogs about things and likes to eat raw egg noodles.

I very carefully check and re-check that I am indeed taking 2 pills. Every night. I check the bottle, check the pills.

I know that I check and re-check because I have the OCD.

It was only in the past month that my Dr upped me to 40. My insurance denied the claim when I dropped my Rx off at the pharmacy. In the midst of making phone calls to get something called a prior authorization, a few days were wasted and my Rx was running out.

CVS gave me the dosage of medication that my insurance was willing to approve. 45 pills. And to a person on a smaller dosage than I, that would be a months supply. I was told to take my 2 pills daily and that the insurance problem should be straightened out by the time I needed to refill.

Ok. Sounds fine to me.

***

Sunday, I realize that I am running low and try to call in a refill over the very convenient automated line. I'm told that I can't. The computer hangs up on me.

I decided to wait until the following day. I would just call my doctor's office. Make it easy.

The office was closed on Monday. RI is the only state in the union that celebrates VJ day.

Good thing the mail still comes, though. I needed my junk mail. It makes sense for offices to be closed on a holiday when the mail is still delivered.

*Breathe*

***

Tuesday. That's today.

Office open, call is made. I'm told that the policy is to have the pharmacy fax over a request to the doctor's office to refill the prescription.

Fair enough.

This is where it turns ugly.

***

I had just so happened to save the little baggie that the pill bottle comes in. The one with the date and the Rx number, even though I had the bottle. I just...had a feeling that something bad was going to happen.

I always have a feeling that something bad is going to happen. Hence the pill bottle's existence in the first place.

But the importance of the bag was that it explained my dose, explained why I was getting 45 for a month but was taking 2 a day. Written out by a pharmacy employee. In neat red pen.

There I am, armed with information. I call the CVS pharmacy. I get a friendly sounding guy.

I explain that I'm trying to refill my prescription. He tells me that he can help me.

Rx number please?

I read him off the number but it is a little hard to see. It looks like the ink on their printer was at the end of it's rope.

I guess I got a number wrong? I confused him.

I told him that I had the bag that the bottle came in.

He got rude.

He told me that I was not due for a refill. I had been given my 60 pills. I needed to wait until it was time for me to refill my prescription.

I explained the insurance problem. I explained the dosage. I explained that 45 divided by 2 does not equal a 30 day prescription and that my bottle even SAID 45.

But, see, I had misread a number to begin with and that I guess flagged me as a pill-popper. Marked me as someone who was stupid. Signaled me as someone to be rude to.

His tone changed and without even attempting to listen to what I was saying he repeated what he said before. I was given my Rx and it was not time to refill.

I asked if I should call my Dr, would that fix this?

He, again, repeated the same statement as before.

And the words came flying out of my mouth.

'You are not hearing what I am saying. I am not calling you a liar about your screen saying '60'. Give me the courtesy of believing that my bottle says '45' since I am right here looking at it. And yes, I messed a number up. Is that impossible to do? Let's try to move past that. You aren't even listening to me. So how about you stop repeating the same thing over and over and you do what you are paid to do and you find a way to correct this and help me refill my prescription. If you can't do that, if that's beyond the duty of 'Hi my name is Chris and I repeat the same thing over and over', how about you...'

He cut me off.

A pharmacist got on the phone.

***

So the pharmacist had clearly been prepped with the summary of what was happening, coming from the side of me being some irrational Lexapro addict who was trying to pull a scam.

He was calm and polite at first, while I explained everything.

Then he told me that there was no way that my bottle said '45' when the computer says I was given '60'.

I was just...stunned.

I argued with him.

I got nowhere.

I got angry.

I told him that I would be in with my Ripley's Believe it or Not pill bottle in 30 minutes and that he needed to be spending that time figuring out a way to straighten this bullshit out.

***

My mom is a pain in the ass but the lady loves her some drama, so when I called her yelling about breaking off a gladiator sandal in the ass of some pharmacy scumbags in Wakefield, she was all for it.

She came to get me.

Because out of all of the vehicles that we own, only 1 is on the road right now and that is being used by The Bottomless Pit. Don't start on that because it's only going to set me off more.

I checked my bottle. I checked the baggie that it came in. I checked them again and again to make sure that I wasn't crazy. Because I AM crazy. And therefore I must be in the wrong.

Anxiety level? 8? Maybe a 9? Probably an 8.

***

Look at me! I'm Lindsay Lohan!

***

I get to CVS.

I stand in line.

I present the evidence.

The lady that is helping me gets a little bit of an attitude at first.

I guess she's been warned.

And then...

She listens.

She reads my pill bottle. She reads my baggie that the bottle came in.

'Oh no! Your insurance was billed for 60 pills and you were only given 45! We owe you 15 pills!'

That's what I was trying to tell you fucksticks.

I'm scanning the pharmacy for bitchy looking males, but all that I see is the top of a bald head a couple of computers back.

She goes back and talks to whatever face is attached to the disgustingly sweaty bald head.

It's like it's making a point of hiding behind a shelf.

She comes back with the pills.

She hands me the bottle and says 'Have a nice day'.

***

Was I stupid enough to expect those jackasses to come out and apologize?

Actually...

Yeah.

And...

They didn't.

***

I paused for a second, not feeling vindicated enough.

I loudly said 'So? What happened..was this your pharmacy's mistake?!'

The people milling about stop. Ears are perking up.

She says 'Well it could've been the insurance.'

I say 'Oh. I didn't know my insurance company came in here and printed dosage information on your pill bottles. Neat.'

She doesn't say anything.

But I said one last thing.

'The two men that I spoke to on the phone earlier? They were unbelievably rude. So rude. And given that I'm just now getting the rest of my prescription and I had SUCH a hard time...I think they might have a pill-popping problem. I don't think I feel safe getting my medications from here any more. I'll be transferring to Rite Aid. You were very helpful though, so thanks.'

***

I practically yelled 'pill popping' part.

I guess I ought to be careful.

That's how rumors get started.

***

But I had to make sure that the bald guy cowering in the back heard me.

***

And as I walked away people were muttering amongst themselves and checking their pill bottles. My work is done.

Similar troubles? Tell me. I'll be pissed off on your behalf.

Stelth Shopping-Learn from Past Mistakes

I was told, "Make sure you buy Little Dude's shoe's for gym class this week."  I was not told where to buy or how much to spend. Last year we bought a pair for 30, so I targeted that.  I didn't feel like going to Wal-Mart or our shatty K-Mart.  I have become a Famous Footwear junkie, not because I like shoes, but because you catch a deal there and BOOM!  Great shoes, great prices.  And being a cheap moe-foe frugal shopper both made my ears perk up.  I joined the membership club and when you spend over 200 or 250 bucks you get free shipping to your home, and as they put it "deals thru out the year".  This is good as the closest store is 45 minutes from hillbilly hell.  I quickly spent the needed amount to become a gold member with my 2 pairs of Shape-up's and another Sketcher pair for Weatherman.  The deals as it turns out is about a 20% off coupon every couple months.  We have since bought countless amounts of shoes for all bi-peds within Casa King. Well I went online shopping and bought Little Dude these for school grand total with the BOGO deal AND the 20% off membership coupon...33 bucks with tax, free shipping to my home.
Shoes that look "Just like Dad's" for everyday wear.

AND
Shoes for Gym
All and all I have back-to-school shopping now officially done!  Hip hip HOORAY!  Plus I didn't have the Weatherman peering over my shoulder the whole time I shopped.  I learned from my mistakes last year, don't include him, shop while he is at work.  Love the man, but he really is can be a stick in the mud.  Go team Famous Footwear!

Ticks Me Off Tuesday-Random

*I am once again going to be blessed to be in the company of my in-laws this weekend.  Not only that, but the weatherman will not be accompanying us on the 3 hour trip back to hillbilly hell I have to take with them.
He seems to think I would get in a pickle in Lincoln driving thru there.  **NewsFlash**  It would more likely be a speeding ticket.

Gawd, if your going to backhandedly insult my driving, get shat right!  I won't get lost, I have excellent sense of direction GPS turn by turn on my phone.

*I had to go in for my annual exam.  I know, your soo jealous!  On the positive, I didn't yack in a trash can as I have been known to to after being there.  I was however put on medication for migraines.  As I have been sporting one for the last almost 3 weeks.  It's been awful, there was no letting up with it.
This med can cause insomnia...umm I have that no biggie.  AND AND AND can lower my inhibitions!  Oh please anyone who knows me knows I have none to begin with.  Fact of the matter the stress of life finally caught up with me.  Now I'm medicated in a 9 month trial of this stuff.  So far I have been almost 50 hours with no pain.  But still medicated.  At least I'm not some zombie.
Or worse some arsehat like this:

*The weatherman is putting out for 2 WCM jobs one local, one in a neighboring FO.  There is a guy that has worked in this office since he was an intern.  Circa '93.  He has NEVER moved, and has the leadership skills of a rabid pitbull.  None.  He's a "do-er."  Weatherman is a people person, who lets others help if they want and doesn't hog the spotlight.  Said guy is a lot like the boss her, a smooth talker and will likely get the job here because his wife won't let him move.  Meaning if it came down to the 2 offices having weatherman and said guy as tied.  Said guy would get to stay and get promoted on pity, while once again our family gets uprooted to another even more hillbilly hellish place.
Yes, this pisses me off to no end.  Weatherman was told as an intern, "In order to move up in the Weather Circus, you must move out of the office."  As stated above this said other guy has never moved.  Ever.  They should be sending HIS arse to said place if it comes to it.  Let him cut his teeth elsewhere.  His wife's wishes be damned.  It's what weatherman does most times...

*Spammers, I am fortunate I don't get them so much on this page I do however get douche bags and stalkers from time to time.  On the page I created for my son, that I update very infrequently, I keep getting these Asian spammers.
It's why I no longer allow instant comments on there.   Thanks a lot you arsehats for causing my xtra work.

*This actually happened 2 Tuesdays ago, but since I am sooo good at letting things go I thought I would share.  I'm still actually fuming about it.  After taking some stellar Vids of Little Dude breaking boards in taekwon do with his hands my SD card corrupted.
Gone, the whole summer was gone!  All because I had been too busy lazy to upload the vids and pictures.  I tried everything I could before I reformatted it.  Nothing it was D.E.A.D.  I don't understand it.  I must have been abducted by aliens and the use of the teleportation to the mother ship must have had just to much of an electrical current for the card.  It's really the only thing I could think plausibly happened to it...
I reformatted it, and BOOM it worked fine.  All pics and vids gone though.  I had some awesome vids of LD playing soccer, some great pics of him too.  Damn you aliens, at least there was no probing involved.

So those are the Random things that really Ticked me off this week.  You are all awarded:
So, your turn to post your gripe(s) below. It's time to let it all hang out here, I'm WAY cheaper than a shrink. *All non personal pics, from Google Images.*

In Case You Live Under a Rock

and didn't realize today is Little Dude's 6th Birthday!
I cannot believe it.  We have already opened gifts, did lunch of his choice McDonalds Happy meal around here there isn't a whole lot to chose from.  The cupcakes were good, but a fiasco.  Again it's all about where we live.  What he doesn't know yet is we are going to bring him out on the go carts, since it's something he really enjoys.  I think he would be content just playing Lego Harry Potter all day.  I am going to have to arm wrestle him for the darn thing I think. Well back to trying to bribe him to let me play the game again later all!

Mostly Wordless Wednesday - Staring the Peverts at the County Fair-UPDATED

Stupid things make me laugh.  Take for instance the county fair and some of the questionable signs they had up there I'm not even going to comment on some of the people there WOW:
Some country singer I don't do country so I didn't care was about to play and the line was long in hillbilly hell. So it took another day to get this one and the very last pic.
Alright this one isn't so bad, and I REALLY have a dirty mind.  In my defense, this one was right outside the "Beef Barn."
Come on it's funny.  Little Dude was standing in line yelling "Eat Me!!"  Ah, children just don't get it.  But, I was by this time giggling like a moron.
Than there is this gem of a sign.  It gets my prever award.  And you should have seen the carny manning it.    Come. On.  If you don't find this mildly funny and perverse are you really my friend?

By the end of the trip to the fair, LD was skipping out of earshot ahead of us chasing some guy on a horse yelling about him being ManTracker.  We watch too much Discovery Channel, I'll fess up.  I went totally gutter after The Weatherman started talking about how many cow girl sluts there were there and how shameful it was.  This was topped off by a bunch of teen boys in 10 gallon hats and shat kickers tripping over a puddle of freaking water.  I believe the words coming out of my mouth were something along the lines of, "I took my milk straight off the cows titty."  Weatherman smirked and just said, "You had to go there huh?  Nice."  He's used to my awesome outbursts after 13 years.

Ticks Me Off Tuesday- Attack of the MIL take 100

Weatherman doesn't do anything by the calender unless it's his.  I on the other hand have even when the dog needs to go to the groomer.  Heck, I have a ringer to pick up LD from school.  I. Rarely. Overlook. Things.
Weatherman on the other hand...Take for instance last week and the movie LD had been talking about seeing for weeks.  The day before Weatherman tells us there is a meeting at work, can't go.  Sure enough, there is, he didn't put it on the calender like he was supposed to.  Oppsie!  We will forgive the one time mess up.   Then this week we had a guy date to go see How to Train Your Dragon with LD and his hommie.
Weatherman and his parents decided that is the day they are coming to visit.  Now mind you they are retired and could come frickin anytime to punish me visit.  But with out consulting me decided THAT day.  Again Weatherman didn't tell me till I asked him today.  I had to ask him!  LD waits till he's good and pissy late in the day, and puts 2 and 2 together that he once again is going to miss the movie because of his fathers inability to plan.  Is he here to face the child's wrath?  Hell no.  Is he going to cancel the play date?  Hell no.  I will have to and explain the conflict in timing in a nice and diplomatic way.  Cuz I'm all diplomatic and crap.
Weatherman had the audacity to call me from his work after I gave him the heads up on what I was dealing with and said, "Well does he realize MY parents are coming?"  Yes, he realizes YOUR damned mother parents are coming:
He didn't care, as he was looking forward to this movie with hommie for over a month!  He is getting to the age he cares more about his friends, because he has them.  He also realizes you didn't even take him into consideration when you decided on the day.  You were out there when I asked hommies Dad about Tuesday.  Thanks a lot weatherman!
I type this while my son is acting like its the end of the flipping world.  I hope he takes it out on them Tuesday.  I know, I'll go to hell for that remark, but come on! The MIL has a knack for creating some kind of drama around LD's birthday.
I'll be sure to start putting in the calender when I have to go to the head, if you can just look, eh, glance at the family calender before planning shat yourself that will affect the family.  Deal?  And for the record I am booked up for the next year on famamily visits from any members of the familyYOUR side.  Thanks.

After these messages...

Or after this week or so, I should be back The weatherman decided to once again put me through hell optimize his leave and got 16 days off.  He's still alive BTW, in case you were wondering.  There was a visit to hell the inlaws and an attempt on my life at the zoo which both weatherman and Little Dude thought funny as all get out thrown in for added fun.  Let the record show I am not a-feared of heights.  But the loss of control, and the idea of falling at 9.8m/s2 scares the living shat out of me.  And it should you too dammit!  So all in all I have had 3 days to recoup, filled with getting stuff ready for a possible birthday party of Little Dude on Wednesday while Weatherman went back to work.  Guess fricking what?!?! He's off for 3 days again, regular time off.  Skippy.

Random: There is something genetically wrong with Little Dude when Weatherman and I are together.  Little Dude is. from. hell.  I don't know why but I would really love to.  Alone, parenting, he has his moments, but it manageable.  But tag-team parenting, oh HELL no.  So I have been absent for many reasons because there is no time between fighting with them to escape on her and bitch about them.  ;-)

Random: I'm done with Anatomy & Physiology 2 with a B!  Eat that "Professor No one can get a passing grade in my class without taking the lecture course!"

Random: That cool trip I insisted on for this vacation from weatherman's job didn't happen.  Unless you count visiting his parents.  No Great Wolf, no Stanley, no Adventureland.  Annoyed.

For now, that is all or I will have Weatherman leering over my shoulder going, "What'cha doin'" and honestly, I can't have that.  Take care all and know I have been reading your posts, just not writing.

I'll Be Back.

Ticks Me Off Tuesday

I had a fab TMOT set up for this week.  Then Friday came along and we found a set of newborn bunnies has set up shop under the steps of Little Dudes swingset.  There were six.  By Sunday night there were 4.

I at first was blaming Sully for somehow getting through the protective fence we put up and using them as squeak toys.  Not taking into account that mother rabbits are whores by nature, and not good mothers.  She killed those first 2 taking them out of the nest.  Sully was then finding them.  I swear he was even trying to mother them.  He did toss one up in the air but he could have hurt them and didn't.  Very early Monday morning we had a storm roll through with over 80MPH winds and hail.  It was too much for the remaining babies.  So to add to the loss the horrid mother tore the remaining babies to bittles.  The weatherman went out to clean up what was left of them.  I am beside myself, I kind of grew attacked to them.  I had bribed the mother to come back and feed with leaving lettuce and some carrots out for her.  I wish I hadn't, I should have taken them into our house and dropper fed them.  I get the whole circle of life thing, I do.  I even accept it, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.  I would like to find said mother rabbit and the neighbors bee bee gun and use her arse as target practice.  And don't even get me started on the Robin that thinks it needs to nest under the elevated deck.  We thought we were home free when we left to go back to WI in late May.  Sure enough, it was holding out for us to leave.  Nest up and eggs in 4 days.
Luckily all 4 of her brood made it out of the nest that night.  So a little corner of our yard was a zoo for a while.

Mother Nature really deserves this award this week.

So, your turn to post your gripe(s) below. It's time to let it all hang out here, I'm WAY cheaper than a shrink.
