Story of my life!!!

So I got this today. Corey was sure he wasn't going to like his. Such pessimism, right? I tried to tell him everything would be cake.

All seemed to be going smoothly until I go pick up the phones and am told there is a Black Berry outage right now and we cannot download the browser. They don't know when it will come up either. Damnit! That's about right, give him more reason to complain. WHY?!?!

Oh that's right...

Murphy, you suck!

His color is showing...

I am honestly trying to look on the bright side of this haircut. I mean REALLY trying. God love LaDaun but his hair is so weird feeling his feet got messed up. They will grow out. This is the first time in almost three years I have seen a short haired Havanese. And NEVER was Sully's hair this short he was in full show coat when we got him at 9.5 months old. His hair no longer feels like cobwebs, but like slick silk. It will grow out, and it was the first try at the cut. LaDaun and I have decided that the dog pictured here, has a different hair consistency than the Sully-meister!

Sully is just laying around the house right now. More ticked off than when we first did this to him, but he got over that and accepts that. Corey just wanted to see what it would look like. Well there you go...it will grow back out.

I see this..I think...

and add in the Song from Shrek 2 (cue to 1min 14 seconds!).

Sigh.

Sully's 1st true full grooming today

My fur ball is going in for his first full grooming AND style this morning. Now I by policy don't function outside the house before 9am. This morning LaDaun wanted him at 8am, damn. Here is the cut we are looking at. Body will be shorter, legs and face still longer. We totally stole this picture off the Havanese Forum. No he will not look like this little girl, just her hair cut.

I have the utmost faith in LaDaun unlike some other groomers...but I am still a bunch of nerves about the new do!

Tick me off Tuesday

Ok so there are a lot of things that piss me off. Today I am trying to upgrade my cell service while Corey is in a good mood to:

or

So I have been up against the road block of adding another 60 or so dollars to the 100 we already pay for cells. There are times of the day when he just doesn't care sometimes. For some reason today and right now are one of those rare times. Soooo.

I call Alltel local, no answer AS USUAL they forward me to India or somewhere 4 times each person has English as I swear a third language and poorly at that. I ask simple questions, "Tell me the price difference, final cost of one data plan and a regular phone line vs. 2 data plans?" 4 differing answers and I can barely understand them! So to you Alltel for outsourcing and being just all around douche bags I give to you (button courtesy of Midwest Mommy) The Ticks me off Tuesday Award

There were many that ticked me off already today, so it is saying something YOU get the award...douchebags.

7/22/09 Puking, parties, and people who piss me off

Many of my readers know that Corey, my husband was VERY sick earlier this week. Only a handful of times in almost 13 years and never seen him that sick. Not even the Juicy Juice incident of '99 compared to this. His fever was extremely high, and he was yacking constantly. I didn't think as he sequestered himself upstairs that making myself would in anyway impact him, let's just say, I guessed wrong and leave it at that! I went through 2 cans of OUST and a can of Lysol. The puking was so loud I slept downstairs, and brought Logan down to the love seat to sleep so he wouldn't wonder in to the room and get contaminated. Logan talks in his sleep engaging you, so it was not a fun night. I brought the fan from Lo's room to stymie the sounds of Corey running back and forth to the bathroom. He started texting me early in the morning to go get him BRAT diet foods and Sprite. I had little sleep, and a lot to do. Did I mention the morning I am speaking of was Logan's 5th birthday?

Corey avoided all contact with Logan and I that day. He missed gifts, the playing, everything. This included the dinner at Nicks that HE invited the Johnson's too. It went well, but I think Aaron missed Corey there, and Amber wished I wasn't such a shop talker with Weather Service stuff. I don't work there but am very up to date in the goings on, since I have no life of my own. :-) While at Nicks the owner Shaun gave Logan and I free drinks, and Yo-Mos (Sweetened pita bread fried like doughnut balls rolled in cinnamon and sugar and dipped in a cinnamon roll topping). Soo good. Aaron and Amber helped me put down a table cloth plates and napkins all Themed HP. It wasn't a birthday party the way I usually do it, but Logan had fun with Gabe and Drew.

I felt so bad for Amber as she is VERY preggo right now is a gestational diabetics, so she had to choose between Yo-Mo's or cake. The cake was de-lish, Allen's came through where no one else had HP stuff yet, even Hy-Vee. MY only complaint is the wording was to be yellow, and I am pretty sure that's blue.

At about 4:30 our hairdresser who is Shaun's wife Tabitha (Tabby) arrived. I thought it was so nice of her to show up too for some cake! They are both great people who are great to our family.

We wrapped it all up about 5, filled with so many calories and sugar I don't even want to think about it. But it appears by the tomfoolery that a good time was had by the boys!

We headed home to check on Corey. I noticed out to the northwest there were some dark but
pretty clouds. So we decided to get some pictures.

We got in just in time to get out of one of the 2 gifts Mother Nature had for Logan.

At least the new storm door we added this past weekend didn't shatter as the golf ball and quarter size hail hit it.

After Logan was asleep, Mother Nature gave another gift, a full double rainbow!

Now on to the people who piss me off part of the morning. As stated before I had little sleep, had to do everything thing by myself, and tend to Corey who was still ill the last thing someone would want to do is bring up the new aquatics director at the YMCA. Well Gwen the membership lady called to called and said I hadn't worked there in 2 months so I was going to have to pay full price for my membership. I told her I usually take summers off basically 4 years in a row. I then let loose stating I think their, hire of Alyssa was stupid and greedy. I think she is a horrid slacker and told them I thought they should have asked someone in the department before hiring it. She said, "We did we asked Lynn to sit in on the panel." Another name I didn't want to hear. "Yea, she had been there for far less than a year at that point, and is so jacked up on Prozac everything is beautiful to her!" This went on for 10 minutes, and I finally said I had to go, but added for her benefit that when we leave there, it will not be because of her (Gwen) but the lack of proper leadership and in my opinion harebrained ideas and misappropriation of funds. I will be canceling my membership as soon as Logan is in school and go to 24 hour fitness. It felt good to get it off my chest, I wish it would have been Michael or Kim instead I let loose on instead, oh well.

My baby is 5 today!

I cannot believe it's been 5 years! No scary birth story because lets be honest, it wasn't pretty! 5 days of labor, 2 days of botched inductions, and no crowning after 3.5 hours of pushing. No woman not having a C-section should EVER have to have 1.5 hours of stitching post baby! He is worth it though. Watching him change and grow every day has been amazing, but not always easy. Some don't think being a Mother is a fulfilling job, I beg to differ. It's the hardest, most rewarding job you will ever have. Creating a person who will contribute to making the world better someday is amazing.

Please join in and wishing Logan a Happy Birthday, here on this site or on his own blog!

Setting her up for failure

It is awful to admit but after trying and trying to get along with my MIL, I have honestly had it. They ask what to get him for his birthday, I tell them to go to the Toysrus registry just like everyone else. She specifically asked if I put any Batman Imaginext toys on there. I told her no. Last time we were in Omaha she decided that theme was soley for "her house." Fine, WHF ever! So I purposly put only toys we don't have at "her house." Jerry and Mary sent him a gift card to toysrus, and told him to pick something out and have it sent in time for his birthday. Logan picked 5 toys, all Imaginext. Rochelle asked how many toys he got from them. Not thinking anything of it, I told her. Also whole on the phone with her, she assures me that she has fun bringing Logan shopping and they will buy him crap for their house when we go there. Fine, WTF ever! She calls the other night saying they bought him over 200 bucks worth of stuff most from but not all encompassing the list. So I asked what she got she told me and said he could either have this castle or a this boat for here, the other stays at "her house." Oh HELL no! You are not taking the list of things he hand picked, and wanted and telling me he cannot have them all here. I will buy him whatever the hell I want, when I want, and where I want. That boat came up in the conversation, my mother wanted to get it for him. She bought it, claiming now since she decided it would stay at "her house" and that being said, he cannot have it here also. No one dictated to me what I can and cannot get to entertain my child. I put the toys she bought for "her house" back up on the list, mature I know, but she was doing it to be a bitch. Sure my family treats me like I am not overly important, but it is not for her to out do them on everything they get for Logan. It's not a damn contest.

Corey is perfectly ok with everything his mother is doing. Once again making me even more mad. She's just trying to be nice he says. Hardly. She is making it a pissing contest plain and simple. If she thinks just because they are coming this weekend I will cave and give him his gifts while she is here, she is insane! Now instead of getting him a small cake here, she wants to get him one herself at Hy-Vee in Omaha. Yep and travel 3.5 hours out here with it. I can guarantee she will pick up a whipped topping cake. Logan won't eat that, I have been through her with this, she doesn't get it. So, I hope she gets royally pissed off at the fact he won't eat it. Setting her up to fail, you bet. Sooner or later this women will have to realize Logan is MY son, not her own. I carried him, I was in labor for 5 days with him, I almost died bringing him in to this world, he is MY son and not hers, nor will he EVER be. I know him better than anyone, she needs to learn there are limits. Hell even my own mother who pushes decentcy limits with my nephew stands aside when it comes to Logan. Getting a compliment from her is no small feat either!

This coming visit is giving my spidey sences a workout for sure. I am seeing this worse than last summers blowup. Guess I will suck it up and try to play nice, but I will not relent in what I think it is right for my son. Even if that means going against my husband...again. Sigh.

Happy Birthday Carrie!

Stop thinking about what you haven't accomplish and look at what you have done and ARE doing! Fight against the demons, I believe you can. Above all know you are loved, maybe not by the masses, but screw the masses. You have the inner circle that would do anything for you. You are blessed in that regard. Happy Birthday to someone who has known me since I was a kid bossing people around backstage with paint all over my overalls! Love ya girl!
